How Do All ,
Today`s draught of beery information is drawn from the information contained in the
 Burton Gyle Books of Truman , Hanbury & Buxton deposited with the good folks @
The London Archives on Northampton Rd , Clerkenwell .
 In common with a number of other brewers , Truman`s saw the obvious advantages of utilising
The justly famed brewing waters ,Amongst these enlightened folks were ;
Peter Walker and , Sir Andrew Barclay Walker Bt , who established seperate breweries in the town ;
In addition to their own , leased at least one other in the 19 Th Century ( Midland Brewery )
Magee Marshall & Co Ltd ;
Leased John Bell`s Brewery from Ca 1902 - 1908/9
Brewing @ Bell`s from 1902/3 - 1908
The Tooth family of The Kent Brewery , Sydney ( 19 Th Century )
The Black Eagle Brewery of Truman`s at Burton had it`s origins in the brewery established
And first built by the Phillips Brothers of Northampton ; With the sale to Truman`s in 1873 ,
 Their involvement in brewing in Burton ended .
After it`s purchase , the Phillips Bros premises were enlarged and rebuilt ,
Becoming fully operative by 1876- 1877 .
The Black Eagle Brewery in Burton was to last as a brewery for just under 100 Years;
Before it`s closure as a brewery in 1971 .
